Sensory processing and its effect on social functioning

Target Audience:

Formal and informal educators, education students, parents.​

Training objectives:

The sensory processing system affects functioning on various levels: social, communicative, behavioral and educational. In this training we will learn to identify sensory processing challenges and offer a variety of adaptations and approaches that can be useful in dealing with these challenges.​

Program Content:
  • Understanding the connection between the sensory system and different levels of functioning amongst children.​
  • Understanding the source of challenging behaviors.
  • Discussion and guidance for dealing with difficulties in sensory processing within the home and family.
  • Providing tools for mediation in leisure activities and games in a diverse social group.
